Summer Camps!

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) summer camp offers a variety of programs for rising 4th to 8th graders. An intern program for young adults, grade 9 through 12 and For the younger campers, we offer the Young Explorers Camp for rising 1st to 3rd graders. Daily Camp hours are 8am to 4pm. There is an early drop-off between 7:45 and 8am for no additional fee.  Any camper dropped off earlier than 7:45am will be charged.

While on the VAB campus, each summer camp day includes two daily camp activities. As the camp morning begins and the camp afternoon comes to an end, all campers sit and learn from “Doc Talks” .  Each day builds on the “ME to the WE to the ONE” concept.  The campers also enjoy water activities in our pool and/or pond. 

The cost of each camp is listed below. Also, each camper is required to pay a one time registration fee of $25.00. If your camper attended the VAB Spring Camp, you are not required to pay an additional registration fee again in 2018. 2018 verdun Intern Week!

Grades 9 to 12

Date: June 4 through 8; Time: M - F 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

This camp is open to all appropriately aged youth interested in becoming eligible for a junior counselor position. VAB intern activities will include: becoming skilled on the VAB challenge course; pond and river aquatics; wilderness survival; backpacking; and hiking. There is one overnight camping trip. The VAB interns are educated on Verdun’s philosophy which promotes the advancement of personal growth with the belief that each person’s life is a journey from the ME to the WE to the ONE. Also, VAB will offer at a discounted additional cost, a CPR and First Aid certification class during this week. It is strongly suggested that all interns new and returning have this training.

*Early Sign Up Special – March 1 through 31, 2018 is discounted to $593.75.  On April 1, the price is $625.

2018 Verdun summer camp

Grades: 4 to 8

Dates: June 11 through 15; June 25 through 29; July 23 through 27

Time: M - F  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Campers will experience a variety of activities Verdun Adventure Bound has to offer. Activities will include: testing abilities on the Verdun Challenge Course featuring high and low ropes elements; playing games; hiking; wilderness survival; pond kayaking; art projects; fort building; archery; and swimming every day in either the pond or pool. Each camp team will create, produce and act in a skit at the end of the week which will be performed at the Anne Marie Sheridan Amphitheatre – parents and family are invited to attend!

This year we will be sending home the week’s plan with activities and your camper’s necessity list. We feel it is important for you and your child to be fully prepared for the exciting week Verdun has to offer!

The week of July 9 through 13, camp registration will be handled through Culpeper Parks & Recreation and Fauquier Parks and Recreation.

The week of July 16 through 20, camp registration and transportation from Northern Fauquier & Prince William Counties will be provided by Wakefield School, The Plains, for an additional $25/per camper. Pick up @ 7:30am and Drop off @4:30pm.  www.wakefieldschool.org/summer
