Managing the Negative Impact of Unconscious Bias, Workplace Harassment, and Discrimination

Program Description: An experiential understanding of disrupting behaviors that prevent a culture of inclusion.  Our comprehensive program is designed to define, identify, and prevent negative behaviors through positive behavior strategies. These positive strategies will bring awareness to Unconscious/Implicit Biases, Discriminatory Behaviors and Harassment tactics.

Key Focus Areas:

Awareness of positive and negative behaviors associated with Unconscious Bias

Understand how discriminatory behaviors impact the organizational culture and ultimately workforce productivity

Why is my advice not getting through?  During this workshop we will offer effective techniques to answer these questions by reflecting on the leader’s delivery, words, and actions and adapting those behaviors through the application of the latest studies and models on talent development and motivation.

Daphne B. Latimore is the founder and Managing Partner of D.B. Latimore Professional Services Group, LLC a boutique firm specializing in Human Resource Management, Professional Coaching Services and Workforce Seminars.

Daphne has over 25 years of strategic and operational experience in both the private and public sectors. As a career HR Strategist, Executive and Leadership Coach, skilled Facilitator and Trainer, and HR consultant, Daphne specializes in establishing sustainable workforce productivity programs through the development of leaders at all levels. 

Daphne's programs include individual performance coaching, group coaching, team facilitation and work shadowing.  Daphne’s business acumen has been credited for successfully transforming and aligning workforce productivity with corporate business imperatives. Daphne is certified to administer and train on personal assessment tools to include the Myers Briggs Type Inventory, LEA 360 and the DiSC profile assessment. 

Daphne is passionate about advancing Human Resources as a profession and is committed to ensuring that “PEOPLE” are an organization’s greatest resource.  As a result of her commitment she developed the Productivity Powered by P.E.O.P.L.E. ® workforce productivity framework based on her years of experience working with leaders at all levels to improve the workforce productivity of their organization.

 Kathryn A Snyder

Kathryn A. Snyder: Katie is a Partner at Achieve Consulting Group, Fellow Coach at BetterUp® and an Outward Bound® Professional Facilitator. She is passionate about building effective teams and helping individuals become empowered, high-functioning leaders. For more than 20 years, she has worked with boards, leadership, and staff to develop strategic plans, to assess programs, and to implement initiatives. Katie has collaborated with numerous nonprofits, foundations and companies to create greater social impact. She has a knack for building consensus, facilitating innovative thinking, and for difficult conversations. She is a supportive critical thinker and is able to challenge people to greatness.

Katie holds a BS in Business Administration, Boston University; an MBA from Marymount University; a JD from University of Richmond and an MS in Organizational Dynamics, concentrations in Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting, University of Pennsylvania. She is licensed to practice law in NY, VA, and Washington, D.C.. Katie is a DISC Certified Trainer of DISC, a LIFO Orientation Certified Master Trainer, a MBTI Step I and II Certified Trainer, an Accountability Circles Certified Trainer, a Low and High Ropes Certified Instructor and a Dan Goleman’s Emotional Social Intelligence Coaching Certification cohort member.

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) offers customized programs for public, parochial and independent schools.  We encourage classes from third grade through the senior high school year to experience at least one VAB team building day per school year.  The approximate length of a typical day is six hours.

Bridal Parties

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) is excited to announce our new and special team building encourage families to blend together prior to the BIG wedding day. The day consists of fun games and play on VAB's extensive challenge course, consisting of low and high rope elements. Every activity is "Challenge by Choice." All involved in these games support each other throughout the various challenges of the day while creating many shared experiences filled with outdoor fun, laughter and long-lasting memories.


Customized corporate organizations are offered multiple team building options on and off campus, from hiking and river trips to our pole based challenge course. These programs are ideal for company excursions, trips and outings, fun group activities or a wonderful getaway from conferences and meetings.

Religious Groups

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) facilities and staff are available to meet the needs of all religious groups. Our 55+ acre property offers a peaceful woodland spiritual environment ideal for retreats, workshops or teambuilding activities personalized to meet specific group goals. Our contemplative retreats activities include focused reading, group discussions, journal-keeping, and solitary reflections. VAB specializes in creating the perfect blend of outdoor learning experiences, social interaction, and personal growth opportunities. Religious services are also welcomed.


Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) is a scout friendly facility. Discounts are extended to both Boy and Girl Scouts. Facilities and opportunities consist of camping, challenge course programs (at an additional fee) and a fishing pond for our catch and release program. We can customize merit badge instruction programs.  As a nonprofit, we have many opportunities for Eagle Scout Projects.

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) is constantly investigating and updating avenues to perform community outreach to the youth of Rappahannock, Culpeper and Fauquier Counties.  Through our programs including mental health outreach, we invite students from ages 7 to 17 to enjoy our Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall Camp programs.

VAB is pleased to announce a limited number of spring and summer camp scholarships will be offered to the youth of Fauquier, Rappahannock and Culpeper County.  Any student age 7 to 17 years of age are eligible and encouraged to apply.

The awarding of the student’s scholarship is based on the family’s economic need. 




The parent/s must submit a letter of recommendation on behalf of the camper.


A statement of financial need of the family’s 2017 federal tax return.


 Applicants must submit a signed and completed camp application form.
